Arthur Minsley (b. Brooklyn 1915) graduated from City College of New York in 1938 and worked as a lumber merchant in his family business. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and trained to work in the Signal Corps. Minsley was assigned to the 305th Signal Operations Battalion, First Army, as part of the 12th Army Group. His unit landed on Omaha Beach shortly after D-Day and fought their way through France, Luxembourg, and Belgium, passing through Cologne, Frankfurt, and Koblentz in Germany. In May 1945 the unit was attached to the 104th Infantry Division.
