This brass nameplate was used at the home of the Plaut family, who lived in Berlin, Germany. Jonas and Selma Plaut were the directors of the Baruch Auerbach Institute for the Education of Orphans from 1922 to 1939, and their wards were Jewish orphans. Jonas and Selma also had their own children, Wolf Gunther (b. Muenster, Germany, November 1, 1912) and Walter (b. Berlin August 28, 1919).
