Gift of Isaiah and Ethel Fishman
Id no. 521.92, Other, Hebrew
The decorations are characteristic of Persian decorative art. At the center of the base, there is a Star of David with the Hebrew word “Zion” painted in the center. On the top is a painting of an old Jewish man and a young Jewish boy seated at the table. The man, a teacher, holds open the Passover haggadah. Above, the Hebrew word “matzoh” is written, as well as a quotation from the Haggadah about bitter herbs.
