The Hitler megillah is in the tradition of ?special Purims?, celebrated by Jewish communities in honor of local events. It was composed by Prosper Hassine to commemorate the liberation of Casablanca from Vichy rule on November 11, 1942. It recounts the history of Hitler?s rise to power and the persecution of the Jews using the form and much of the language of the Purim megillah, the Book of Esther.
