Plastic bopper, used as noisemaker on Purim
none
Id no. 1990.91, Judaica
Subject(s):  Ritual, Purim
Noisemakers are used in synagogue during the reading of the Scroll of Esther on Purim to drown out the name of the villain, Haman.

This one squeaks if you playfully bop someone on the head; the other (fish) end is a whistle. Boppers are also used in Israel on Independence Day.
