The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) published this pamphlet appealing for tolerance and aid for refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe in an effort to counter with facts the widely-held perception that refugees were taking away American jobs.
It was prepared and funded by the American Jewish Committee (AJC), but printed by a Quaker organization so as to "play down" the popular belief that refugee issues were solely a Jewish concern. The AFSC is a Quaker organization that focuses on peace and social justice issues. In the 1930s they helped people trying to escape Germany.
