The Jewish Welfare Board produced prayerbooks and holiday cards for Jews seving in the armed forces. This card is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Fierstein in Brooklyn and was written by their daughter-in-law, Blanche in April 1944. The message informs them that she and Jack were ?very happy just being together.?
The Jewish Welfare Board was formed in 1917 to assist in training rabbis for military service. It merged with five other organizations in 1941 to create the United Services Organizations, which was responsible for the recreational needs of the armed forces of the United States.
