Id no. 2014.16.2, Document, English
Armand Handfus was born in 1927 in Paris. In 1940, under the Nazi occupation of France, he was not able to celebrate his bar mitzvah. A speaker of French and Hebrew, he studied Hebrew to prepare for a bar mitzvah in New York in 2007, which he dedicated to his mother and brother, who had been deported and killed, and to other boys who were unable to be bar mitzvah in 1940.
