Rywka Cala and Juda-Rubin Putersznyt?s are second and third from the left. Putersznyt?s father Israel is on the far left. Seated in the middle is Mordechai Chaim Rumkowski, the leader of the Lodz Ghetto Judenrat (Jewish Council), who officiated at weddings.

Marriage reflects an attempt to sustain normal life in the ghetto and symbolizes the couple's hope for the future.
