The text translates in part: Decrees as follows: executive power is passed into the hands of the commanding colonel; civil administration is directed by the mayor in accordance with the colonel's orders; police fulfills its duties as usual; French and British forces must present themselves without delay and unarmed; those not doing so within 24 hours will be shot; police and civilians must turn in French and British forces or will be shot; uniformed functionaries must salute German officers; clocks are set to German summer time; curfew between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Blackout at same hours, etc. Signed Colonel Rothe, Commandant of the City of Nancy.
