The sign "Koffer" (suitcases) is an example of the "beautification" of the Terezin Ghetto before the visit of the Red Cross. Expropriated goods were sold and inmates could purchase back their own belongings.
Deported from Prague to Terezin in 1941, at age 12, Helga Weissova spent almost three years creating drawings that showed the true conditions in the Ghetto.
