The message translates: My dearest children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Actually, I don't know what to start with. I am extremely saddened and depressed that I don't receive any news from you. Throughout my entre stay here in the camp, I have received only two letters from you, my dear Romek, with a postscript from dearest Jadzia. Twice I received transfers of fifty marks each from you for which I am eternally grateful. I am weeping constantly for my beloved Gustav and Rozia. but still I don't understand why I have received only two letters from you, Romek and two money transfers. Regina is very poor just like myself. I beg you with bitter tears to save me. As to Rumkowska, I have written to you. How is your health? How is your life in general? I kiss you many times. Your loving and very sad mother and grandmother.
