The Bialystoker Home for the Aged was started by the Bialystoker Landsmanschaft (a Jewish mutual-aid society which helped new immigrants from Bialystok adjust to life in the US). The Home for the Aged was built to care for members of the Bialystoker Landsmanschaft and their community.
