Id no. 120.95, Document, English
Subject(s):  Emigration-DP, HIAS
The Far Eastern Jewish Central Information Bureau for Emigrants writes to the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) in San Francisco to ask that HIAS extended ?any moral any judicial assistance required? to Richard David, his wife Johanne (misspelled as Johanna), and their children Rolf and Arnold, when they come to the United States from Shanghai.

The David family left Germany in 1939 to escape the Nazi regime and found refuge in Shanghai, China. Shanghai had no restrictions on immigration at the time, providing refuge for some 20,000 European Jews. The family immigrated to the United States in 1947 and settled in Baltimore.
